MESSAGE TO THE HALO COMMUNITY

Hey there everybody, ShadEO9 here, how have we all been?

So, I've not been playing Halo 4 as much just recently (life keeping me busy), Then tonight i jump on Matchmaking and remembered just how much fun can be had with good friends of the Halo community. 

This has gave me that extra motivation to create something I've been wanting to do for sometime now, and arrange a community playdate which will take place once a month where we can all jump in on a variety of game types and just have a total blast! I want to make this a permanent fixture which will take place on the 20th of each and every month, I encourage you to bring your headsets, but these are not essential for those who prefer not to talk. 

I think this'll be alot of fun to meet many of you guys on the virtual battlefield, I understand timezones can be a little tricky so i will try and make this as fair as possible for everybody involved, even if this means playing at various times to meet you all.

So, would you be interested?

HALO 4 - MCFARLANE SERIES 2 INGAME UNLOCKABLES

McFarlane Toys' Halo 4 Series 2 action figures will come with unique codes that will unlock new, previously unreleased exclusive in-game content Halo Waypoint has announced. There's a total of eight new armor and weapon skins, and each only available through McFarlane Toys action figures. Each figure in the series unlocks a different item. And all armor skins will feature customizable colors. Pretty sweet, eh?

THE HALO BULLETIN: 5.29.13

It's that time of the week again, Where 343i unleash the Halo Waypoint Bulletin, This week's bulletin was brought to us by 343i's Bravo, who discusses numerous topics, including the final state of weapon tuning...

Starting Monday, June 3rd, the following updates will be applied to Halo 4 War Games Matchmaking:

Battle Rifle

• The Battle Rifle damage has been increased. The Battle Rifle is now capable of killing in four bursts.
• The Battle Rifle rate of fire has been slightly decreased.
• The Battle Rifle red reticle range (range at which auto-aim benefits kick in) has been decreased.
• Two bursts from a Battle Rifle followed by a melee will now kill an opponent (2-shot melee).

Carbine

• The Carbine damage has been increased. The Carbine is now capable of killing in seven rounds.
• The Carbine accuracy has been increased (projectile spread decrease).
• The Carbine red reticle range has been decreased.

LightRifle

• The LightRifle zoomed rate of fire has been increased.
• The LightRifle un-zoomed rate of fire has been slightly decreased.
• The LightRifle red reticle range has been increased to match the updated DMR range.

DMR

• The DMR red reticle range has been slightly decreased.

Assault Rifle

• The Assault Rifle damage has been slightly increased. The Assault Rifle now kills in three less rounds.
• The Assault Rifle auto-aim angle has been reduced.
• The Assault Rifle projectile spread has been decreased.

Storm Rifle

• The Storm Rifle damage has been increased. The Storm Rifle now kills in three less rounds.
• The Storm Rifle auto-aim angle has been reduced.
• The Storm Rifle projectile spread has been decreased.

Suppressor

• The Suppressor damage has been increased. The Suppressor now kills in three less rounds.
• The Suppressor auto-aim angle has been reduced.
• The Suppressor projectile spread has been decreased.

SAW

• The damage has been increased to maintain double the damage-per-second of the Assault Rifle.

Magnum

• The damage has been slightly increased. The Magnum is still capable of killing in six rounds.

Vehicles

• The damage has been increased on both the Mantis and Warthog Chain Gun.

Lastly, base player movement speed has been increased from 100% to 110% across all playlists and modes. All of these balance tweaks will be released this coming Monday in order to provide a more fast-paced, optimized matchmaking experience, and all of Halo 4’s applicable Matchmaking game types will be affected by this change. Team Snipers, Grifball, and Action Sack’s Rock N’ Rail will not see any changes, however, as the weapons in these game types are not affected. Some game types (such as Action Sack’s Lightning Flag), will not receive the change due to the preferred pace and balance in the current tuning. Moving forward, select game types in the Action Sack playlist may use alternate weapon tuning, and we will be sure to provide information on these game types when the time comes.

MICROSOFT ANNOUNCES HALO THE TELEVISION SERIES

Today, May 21st 2013, Microsoft unveiled to the world the next generation Xbox console, Now named - Xbox One. (Video soon to follow)

During the presentation 343 Industries Bonnie Ross took center stage to announce that Microsoft and 343 Industries are set to launch a new live action series - 'HaloTV'.

Now if this isn't awesome enough already, The legend that is Steven Spielberg will be the executive producer. 

We are pretty excited by this announcement and any new info we should find will be shared right here with you, on You Know You're A Spartan.

Today's Halo 4 Matchmaking update welcomes an encore of Spartan Ops Episode 7, as well as several War Games updates.

Premiering this week is the Community Forge Island playlist, which brings with it 6 new community-made maps on Forge Island. It will be available for a limited time only (until the June 3rd Matchmaking Playlist Update). If you haven’t yet downloaded the free Forge Island canvas, head here to download to your Xbox 360. HALO 4 MATCHMAKING UPDATE: 5.6.13

The recent Halo 4 Matchmaking update brings the addition of new maps created by Certain Affinity into existing playlists, as well as some other fixes and optimization. The maps that have been added were originally showcased in our Community Forge Test and FFA Forge Test playlists, and have since been updated to provide new experiences across multiple game modes. This list slightly differs from the information originally provided in the Halo Waypoint Bulletin - 343i are working with the below Forgers to ensure that the correct versions of their maps are showcased.

Team Snipers -

Shutout has now been updated with improved respawn points for Team Snipers.

343i have decided to remove Shutout (a remake of Halo 2’s Lockout) from the Rumble Pit playlist due to how this version of the map flows in Halo 4. An updated version of Shutout will be placed into SWAT, Team Snipers and Infinity Slayer. Additionally, Simplex will be updated to the Team Throwdown version across all playlists with the exception of Action Sack, as Lightning Flag plays best on the prior version of Simplex due to lines of sight and other factors. 

Other Matchmaking updates this week include removing the Grunt Birthday effect from Fiesta Classic in the Action Sack playlist, as well as fixing the suicide respawn point on the map Settler. Lastly, 343i updated several of the Grifball settings to reflect the correct community settings in regards to Base Player Damage, Grif Damage Resistance, Grif Shield Multiplier and Suicide Penalty.

With these adjustments being added i'm sure this will make Halo 4 MM run a whole lot smoother for Spartans alike. Enjoy.
